Original Hand Made Jewelry-FAQ
faq
When will my purchase arrive?
THE SHORT ANSWER IS "SOON". Fully finished items and items requiring only sealing will ship in 2-5 business days. Made to order items will generally ship in 5-10 business days depending on complexity and the number of other pending orders. Custom made cast silver rings are an exception. The lost wax process has many steps and the actual casting step is subject to the foundry schedule, so castings usually require 3-4 weeks---but they're worth it. Take a look at the Silver Dinosaur Bone Ring in the Rings Collection.
How much does shipping cost?
I ship within the US, generally by flat rate USPS priority mail, $6.80 for the small flat rate box, which is generally sufficient. A really large order might require a larger flat rate box and more postage. If that ever happens I'll contact you about it. Priority flat rate boxes generally arrive in 2-3 business days in the lower 48 states.
Do I have to pay tax on my purchase?
If you live in Texas, yes. Since I live in Texas I'm required to charge Texas residents 8.25% sales tax on internet sales; they are regarded as no different than a sale in a bricks and mortar store. But if you live outside Texas you do not have to pay sales tax.
The item I want is out of stock. Can I still purchase it?
Despite the automated messages that sometimes pop up on my Wix site, nothing here is ever really "In stock" or "Out of Stock" because nothing I sell is ordered and shipped from anywhere else. I make it all in my own shop, so if it's on the shelf pretty much the way you want it, it will ship in 1-5 days; and if I make a new one just the way you want it, it will ship in 5-10 days. Most items say "In Stock" because that is the only way the Wix program will let me show you the prices. Ah, the eccentricities of software!
How do I determine my ring size?
1) If you have a ring of known size that fits the finger on which you'll be wearing your new one, that's the best measure of size. Tell me if your ring has a wide band or narrow. Wide bands are made a little larger. 2) Most jewelers will measure your ring and/or finger for you. Tell them whether it's for a wide or narrow band ring; they use different sizers. 3) You can use a paper ring sizer that I will email to you on request. It is important that you carefully follow the instructions for printing the ring sizer and using it. Trying to measure your finger with a tape measure or string does not work for rings and will almost always result in an incorrect measurement.
